Located in Canacona Southern Goa; it is another famous beach. It's known for its beautiful crescent – shape which makes it possible to see both the ends from the centre of the beach. Featured in Matt Damon English Movie The Bourne Supremacy; it's another kind of beach with Green Island; its definitely one of the places to be in.

Things To Do in Palolem Beach

  • Lots of foreigners linger here. Being one of the best beaches for relaxation; most of them can be seen sun – bathing, listening to music, playing football or simply walking on the sand. Kids can be seen making sand houses and other such structures.
  • Palolem beach is quite close to Monkey Island. In fact, it's just a walk away. So, if you have enough of taking walk on PALOLEM; consider moving towards Monkey Point. It is another beautiful destination with lots of locations to click pictures on. Next to it is the Honeymoon beach or Butterfly beach. To reach Butterfly beach you will need to hire a boat, but the beauty of the place makes it worth the ride. Take the ride at sunrise or sunset.
  • This beach is also known for a good Night life. Its known amongst tourists for party hard here. Go towards Silent Noise Party at Neptune Point. Enjoy the music on your headphones and dance till the music ends.
  • Few water activities like kayaking and paddling are done here. Dolphin rides to are done here, but only in winters. The Rest is swimming on your own. Going deep in the sea is not allowed here.

Shopping in Palolem Beach

Trinkets, costume jewellery, anklets, handicraft products, souvenirs, street design colourful dresses, shoes and much more are sold in the Tibetan market shops of the beach. There are good bookshops too where one can relax and read books. Many restaurants and bars offer books to read. Many of them have a good collection of Hollywood and Bollywood blockbuster movies too.

Walking down Tito’s Lane one walks down the little bars and live music cum dance. Some other famous names include Cafe Mambo and Literati Bookshop & Cafe. This bazaar is also known for serving yummy Goan Cuisine ; so one can expect to savour the best Goan cuisine here!

How to Reach Palolem Beach

One can reach Palolem Beach either directly from Goa Airport by hiring a cab. The Palolem beach is 67 kms from the airport. One can also reach from Madgaon railway Station, which is 43 kms away. After getting down at the station hire a pre – paid cab to reach the beach. It should cost around 1000/- INR. Buses too run on the same route.

Tips for Traveller in Palolem Beach

One of the best ways to explore the beach is to either go along with your tour guide or hire a bike and see the beach and nearby places. Bikes are good for younger groups or a small family. Do not drive without wearing a helmet or without an international driving license.

A Second best way to explore the beach is to hire a Kayak in the early morning and relax. Sunset on Palolem beach is very famous; seeing the sun setting in. Swimming, fishing, Paragliding, dolphin watching and boat riding are the main activities done here. So, don’t go for touts. Keep your kids within your eyesight and avoid letting them go far. Keep little cash and use credit cards wherever possible. Avoid local eateries for food. These are good for drinks.

Nearby Attractions in Palolem Beach

Some of best attractions nearby include Saint Tereza Of Jesus, Pantem beach, Shree Dutta Guru Mandir, Pantem – Colomb beach, Pandava’s Drum, Bumipurush Temple are some of the nearby attractions. All of these are at short destinations and are good places for photography, short walks and memories to take along. However, the main attraction remains the Palolem beach only.
