History of Delhi unfolds itself like a saga as we set out on an excursion of the famous monuments and other places of importance here. First, we take you to Old Delhi that has the reputation of being the capital city of Mughal India for some time.
Visit the Red Fort (Outside View) built by Shahjahan, lively market of Chandni Chowk, Jama Masjid in Old Delhi. Also enjoy the Rikshaw ride at Old Delhi and visit Humayun Tomb.
New Delhi is a completely different part of the city as it was the capital of British India. Places to have a look at here are Lotus Temple, Birla Temple, Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate, Qutub Minar etc.
Evening drive towards Agra. On arrival, check in to hotel. Overnight stay at Agra.
Agra is a city telling the great stories of a strong Mughal empire spread over most of the parts of Indian subcontinent. Mughals put up a grand show of the their power by constructing mega structures like Agra Fort, a small fort city comprising palaces, halls, gardens etc.
Taj Mahal which was built by Shahjahan to bury his wife: Mumtaz Mahal, Mughal Gardens - Ram Bagh, Dayal Bagh, Soami Bagh etc are all the heritage sites of Agra worth a visit.
If time permits, visit Fatehpur Sikri (the ruined city) consisting of features like the Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti, Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid etc.
We depart from Agra in the evening to reach Jaipur - city housing royal Rajput families. An assisted check into a hotel will be followed by a relaxing overnight stay in Jaipur.
We spend the day in Jaipur exploring the history of Royal Kachwaha Rajputs, most well known among them being Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Jai Singh II owned a powerful fort triad situated on the hills of Aravalli from where he could keep an eye on Jaipur city as these three forts overlook Jaipur.
Afterwards, shop at the markets of Jaipur for junk jewellery, colourful outfits, souvenirs etc. Come back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
On day fifth, we visit Hawa Mahal which has five stories and 935 windows for the royal women to look at the occurrences outside, Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh, Jal Mahal suspended on the sparkling waters of a lake, Jantar Mantar, Birla Planetarium, Birla Temple etc.
At last we go to Chokhi Dhani giving us the real feel of countryside Rajasthan. Watch the Puppet show, Kalbeliya dance and have a scrumptious thali meal of Daal- Baati- Churma. Take a good night’s sleep as you go back to the hotel in Jaipur.
Post breakfast, checkout from hotel and depart for Delhi to board flight for onward destination.
