itinerary
On the first day when you arrive at Cochin Airport/Railway station; our escort / representative will pick you up and drop you at the hotel. You will be welcomed with fresh coconut water and as welcome drink! After this we will move on to see the famous church St. Basalica and the Dutch Palace (closed on Friday).
Kochi has got one of the best well managed Ports of India. So, in the early evening, we will take you for a round -about of the Cochin Port.
Enjoy the charm of watching hundreds of small and big ships and boats waiting for their turn to touch the waters of sea here. In the later part of the evening, you can take rest in the hotel premises.
Next day, soon after a hefty South Indian/Continental breakfast; we will set off to Munnar. Munnar which is a popular hill station of District Idukki; has been a summer resort of British India! Many reminisces of that era can still be seen in form of old buildings and houses.
With 3 rivers flowing in; it has got a Savannah forest, scenic valleys, splashy waterfalls, sprawling tea – plantations and sky – touching hills. It’s simply nature which sings all around.
So, we will begin with seeing the Tea Plantation and the entire process of making tea (TATA Tea Museum - closed on Monday). It will make for most of the day. In the evening we shall return for night stay.
On the third day of the tour, we shall explore more of Munnar. The first thing we will visit the Eravikulam National Park (closed in February & March). It is famous for Endangered Mountain Goat of South India and Nilgiri Tahr.
Also see epiphytic Orchids, wild balsams, Nilgiri Langur, Indian Bison, Leopard, Tiger and so on!
Afternoon we shall move on to see Mattupetty Dam, Anamudi Peak and the Echo Point. You can take a walk in the local market in late evening if you wish.
Night stay shall be at the hotel.
Next day, soon after finishing breakfast, we will move on towards Kumarakom by road. Kumarakom is famous for 2 things – its backwaters and kettuvallam. Is a backwater hub located in a cluster of Islands on the Lake Vembanad.
On reaching here, we will take you to one of the best Backwater Resorts. After refreshment, we will take you to Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Enjoy the first half exploring the wild beauties as they chirp all along.
Afternoon we will be back to enjoy water skiing/sailing.
Those not interested can enjoy the evening in the Backwater Resort and night stay is scheduled.
Next day we will move towards Kottayam. On reaching Kottayam, we shall get on Kettuvallam or Kerala Houseboats and reach Alleppey. This is the day when you enjoy a stay on board. Get prepared to be served fresh water fish and dishes dished out straight out of Houseboat kitchen.
You can even try fishing and cooking here if you wish so. Enjoy fresh coconut water, filter coffee and sitting in the balcony of the boat as it move slowly on Vembanad River.
Enjoy dinner and over-night stay in the houseboat only.
Next morning, soon after you finish your breakfast, we will hit the road to reach Kovalam. On reaching Kovalam, check – in the hotel and relax.
In the noon, we will take you to the Kovalam beach to enjoy Water Sports like Surfing, Kayaking and Open Sea Water Swimming. This internationally renowned beach town offers one more thing – Kerala Ayurvedic Therapies and Messages (These are good for body and mind relaxation.
Ayurvedic messages are also internationally acclaimed for relieving pain from various ailments like migraine, spine & back pain and so on). You can enjoy these too in the later half of the day at your hotel which will be equipped to offer such services.
Later on night stay at the hotel.
Next day sight – seeing we shall see Padmanabhaswamy Temple (one of the 108 Vishnu Temples or Divya Desams of South India).
After visiting the temple and knowing a little history of it by our tour guide; we will move on to see Napier Museum (Natural History Museum) and Sri Chitra Art Gallery (contains original paintings of Raja Ravi Verma, Svetlova and Nichols Roerich).
Afternoon visit the Ponmudi Hill Station (filled with spice and tea plantations, waterfalls and mini zoo with Barahsingha). For night stay we shall drive slowly towards the hotel.
On the last day of your tour; after having breakfast; we will travel to Trivandrum by road (only 16 kms away). In the afternoon, we will see you of returning to your home!
