Himalaya Adventure Activities

Himalayan mountain ranges extend from North bordering with Pakistan to North East bordering with Myanmar (erstwhile Burma) at Morey in Manipur covering the State of Nepal. Himalayan heights are challenging and diverse. They include snow capped peaks, lush green mountains and bare rocky tops with deep valleys.

In the North, Himalayas cover Indian States of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. In Kashmir ( Leh. Ladakh and Gulmarg) has the challenging heights offering the arduous adventures. In Leh in Himachal Pradesh State is famous for adventure sports like rock climbing, water rafting and skiing. Rohtang Pass in Manali visited during day light is a tough spot where staying itself is an adventure. In Beas river of Manali, paragliding is thrilling. Dharamshala, the home of Dalai Lama, also offers the adventure of Paragliding nesides Buddhist Zen meditation.

Darjeeling (West Bengal) is spot foradventure sports like rock climbing and trekking. Paragliding up to Rishikesh , a holy city as the banks of Gages, from a few mountainous spots up is also popular.

Nepal is the country where Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world, is located. There are nine more equally challenging peaks in Nepal. Mountaineering is the most popular adventure activity.

Other major adventure activities in Nepal include wilderness and adventure activities such as Mountain biking, Bungy Jumping, rock climbing and mountain climbing, trekking, paragliding and hot air ballooning over the mountains of Himalaya, exploring the waterways by raft, kayak or canoe and jungle safaris especially in the Terai region. Paragliders over Phewa Lake is most popular.
