Delhi Tourism Ministry to Collaborate with Event Companies

  The Delhi State Government came up with a latest ‘event policy’ to boost tourism and revenue. According to this policy, A R Rahman- the Music maestro of India will perform at the NH7 Weekender (India’s favorite music festival), in New Delhi. This event policy in cooperation with an organization of event management companies will help promote such programs.   Kapil Mishra, Delhi Tourism Minister said that the purpose of branding and motivating such large-scale entertainment events  is to make Delhi, the capital city a center of cultural activity to attract tourists in large number.   Minister of Tourism Delhi, Mr. Mishra said, "In the past, we have cleared Zubin Mehta's concert in 24 hours. His second concert was cleared in 20 minutes. This was done through a single-window clearance system and easing of licensing norms. Delhi government's new event policy will not only bolster excise revenue manifold but also help make Delhi a hub of cultural and entertainment events,"   One of the leading music festivals of India, NH7 Weekender will be held from 28-29 November 2015, at Dwarka Sector 10 in Delhi.   It is a two-day event where, popular names like Flying Lotus, Mark Ronson, Mogwai, SBTRKT and Rodrigo y Gabriela along with many Indian artistes like Vishal Dadlani, L Subramaniam, Niladri Kumar, Arka, Hriday Gattani, V Selvaganesh, Parikrama, Nucleya, Ankur & The Ghalat Family, The Raghu Dixit Project and Swarathma apart from Rahman will also perform.   Kapil Mishra added, EEMA (Event and Entertainment Management Association) that represent some large-scale agencies of events and entertainment organizes some of the popular shows, concerts, festivals and entertainment events within the country.   The minister said that people should not ask for free passes as he himself had bought tickets for the concert.
