In the year 1977, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) formed International Museum Day with the aim to increase awareness amongst public about the role of museums. To tell how museums contribute in society’s development. In 2014, International Museum Day received record?breaking participation. More than 35,000 museums organized events in about 145 countries.

The objective of International Museum Day is to tell that museums are an important means of exchanging culture and cultural enrichment.
