Amaranth Gufa is one of the oldest cave which approximately 5000yr ago. In this cave Lord Shiva revels the secret to the Goddess Parvati of wearing the chain of skulls and bones in his neck. In this cave there is Shiva Linga which fully covered with Ice. The cave was open only for 4 month from May to August. This cave is located in Jammu Kashmir in Shrinagar. From Shrinagar to Amarnath it is approx. 41.7miles or 67km distance. Amarnath Yatra is not so difficult, frequent bus are available and also ample are available which will make your journey easy and cheap. Now days helicopter are also available to make your journey more special, easy and adventurous.
Procedure to visit Amarnath Yatra
- The person who wants visit Amarnath must be perfectly fit and fine and does not have any health issue. Most importantly they should have the issue which is related to breathing. Medical Certificate is most important part of the journey
- To get Yatra Permit you had get a registration done the First-Come-First-Serve basis.
- On the give date all the member of the journey will have to get registered on the Bank Branches.
- The permit of the journey will be valid only the registered members.
- The route is opened for limited people so they ensure that the number of members will not over reach. There are many branches according to rules each branch will get limited member for travel as it is fixed by per day/per route quota.
- There are limitations for the age groups. The person who is below 13 yrs. and above 72 yrs. are not allowed to travel. A lady who is pregnant more than the six weeks also not get registration for the journey.
- In some branches the application forms and CHC is available on free of cost. So you do not have to pay multiple times for the journey.
- For the journey you have to provide some important documents which are mandatory for the journey. These documents are responsibility of the registration officers. These are so important without full documents you are not allowed to travel.
Amarnath Yatra Registration application form contains:-
- You have Filled-in gave application form
- You need have a Compulsory Health Certificate which is issued in some nearby dates from a recognized doctor or authorized medical institution.
- You have carry three passport size for of your and a copy of the registration application for.
- The permit of the journey will be allotter the registration officer. There are two routs and the routs have different officers who will issue the permit of travel. They have color-coding coding in cards so that there will no confusion in the days of traveling.
- The journey is only allowed for registered members. Once the officer gives the permit they will give you the specific day which is according to the availability and number of members are traveling. The members are to cross the border gate and start their journey on the given date.
- It is the duty of the bank branches that the of the travel should match to the day which is printed on the permits before issuing the yatra permit.
- It is very important to cover the travel journey with the transparent tape so and put a seal before issuing the permit. Without seal, it will not be considered a valid travel permit.
- If your all documents are valid and you have complete application the registration officer will issue the Yatri Permit and it will cost around Rs. 35/-
- Registration officers will make the permit according to the filled application and CHC. So that there will no chances of the mistake.
- The registration officer will affix the photograph and sign on the permit. Seal of the bank branch is compulsory on the permit without seal officer will not sign on the Yatri Permit.
- The registration officer will sign and fix the photograph immediately. In no case, the journey will get started on pre-prepared applications.
- After all, the procedure whole material will be sent to the CEO of the SASB after all checking he will issue the yatra permit for the travelers.
How to Reach Amartnath Yatra
The Srinagar is very near to the mountains that is why the weather of that palace is very cold. And the weather of the Amarnath is extremely cold in June or July. The official dates for 2022 are announced which will start from 30th June to 11th August. The journey will be approximately 42 days. This journey will take 2-3 days to complete. The journey can be done by tracking or by the helicopter. If you are taking the route of tracking you can book tour packages that is affordable and it will take 5-6 days to get complete.

There are two routes of the Amarnath one is Pahalgam which is a bit time taking and also expensive and another one is Balta which is easy and also affordable. There are only 7500 seats are allowed for travel passenger bookings are done in advance for the journey. For traveling to The Amarnath Gufa you can take helicopter which will drop you till panchratni it 6 far from the holy cave. From the Baltal is will take 10 min to reach and from Pahalgam, it will take 20 min. There is no direct helicopter for the Cave you have to track because the panchratni is the last helped station.
For traveling to Amarnath you need to have some documents which are necessary for trailing that Is Your medical fitness certificate which given by the authorized doctor or an authorized medical institution. You need to carry your Adhar card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving license for your identification. To reach Amarnath you need there is no train directly to go there. For this journey you first you have to go to Jammu and after that, you have traveled to Baltal Or Pahalgam and then you have to track, book helicopter or book a horse for travel. If you are Tracking from Baltal you get your journey over in 1-2 days.
Best Time to Visit Amarnath Yatra

The best time to visit the Amarnath Cave is the end of June. This is considered the best time to travel to the Amarnath Journey. During the tracking there are many langars which is organized by the government or the local people the distribute many types of food items like rice, curries, idlies, dosa, etc. Some of them also distribute dry fruits chocolate, etc.
For staying in between you will rarely find any hotels mostly you will get tents to get sleep, these tents usually have a blanket, pillow, and surface mat to get protected from the cool breeze.
The weather is mostly cold of the Amarnath so you should have warm jackets and hoodies stay warm parka works best in this winter along with this you need to have a raincoat, windcheaters, and some necessity of the travel like torches and quick food items. For this the journey you need to have good grips shoes, in these boots will work best they will give you a nice grip and hold in snow and water.
When you went inside the cave you cannot take photos and you are not allowed to take any kind of camera inside the cave. According to the Indian army of the Amarnath, they keep ensuring that the rules must be followed and you should keep your surrounding neat and clean.
Limitation - There are some limits on the age of the children who are below 13yr surroundings above 75yr even they are fit from there body we’re not allowed to travel even a person who is not well also not get registration for the travel.
