1. Hauz Khas

Hauz Khas is an eminent picnic spot in South Delhi. In (1296 to 1360) Sultan Alauddin Khilji built a huge water reservoir and a village complex around it. "Hauz" means water reservoir in Urdu. Again in 1960 DLF developed it as a tourist spot.

This immaculate Bird Sanctuary is officially known as Shaheed Chander Shekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary. It is one of the 466 IBA (INDIAN BIRD SANTUARY) in India. It is situated far away from the humdrum existence at the Okla Barrage over Yamuna River in Noida, Gautam Buddhanagar District on Delhi Uttar Pradesh State Border.

In 1990 3.5 acres of land over Yamuna River was designated for the Bird Santuary by the Uttar Pradesh Government under the act of Wild Life Protection Act 1972.

According to the history the construction was started in 1874 and Major GeneralH.P. W. . Hutson recorded birds here in 1943 during his Ornological survey . After Mrs. Usha Ganguli wrote in her book about she recorded birds this site. 400 species of birds, 1 lakh migratory birds in Winter, green land, wet land have made this place eminent picnic spot.
