Varkala, one of the popular destinations of Kerala is easily accessible through all modes of transport. The city is therefore very well connected with other major cities of India.
Varkala is well connected through airways and its nearest airport is the Thiruvanthapuram Airport, which is located at a distance of 36 km away. It operates several international and domestic flights from Middle East, South East Asia and major cities of India like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.
Varkala is accessible through buses from both Kochi and Trivandrum. You will find KSRTC buses in abundance running within the city from the major bus stands. But buses remain quite crowded and you may not feel comfortable.
