Once you reach Paro International Airport, Bhutan, the tour representative will be waiting for you and drive you to Thimphu, which is 55 km away and is the capital of the country.
On the way, the tour halts at the religious site of Chuzom for spotting stupas. Chuzom is the spot where Paro River and Thimphu River joins. Right before the stop at Chuzom, you will drive through the famous 15th century Tschogang Lhakhang. This is called as the temple of the excellent horse, built as a result of the Balaha visitation.
Once you reach Thimphu, you will be taken directly to a hotel, where you will be checked in. After the refreshment, the sightseeing starts by afternoon covering Tashichho Dzong fortress. This is not just a fortress but a monastery, now used as an official government seat. This is the summer residence of the chief Abbot, too. The monastery also holds the throne room of the king, secretariat building and others.
In the evening, you will be taken on a walking trip through the market region and the main street of Thimpu. This includes visit to local crafts bazaar for souvenir hunting. Top items to buy during this visit are slate articles, wooden articles, Thangka painting, handwoven textile, masks, ceramics and others.
You will be taken back to the hotel for overnight stay.
