Despite being very small in size, Sri Lanka is blessed with a diverse collection of landscapes, climates, and natural features. Sri Lanka’s beaches, national parks, mountains, and shopping centers have been inciting visitors for many years.

Central highlands of Sri Lanka are carpeted with tea plantations and you may see occasional waterfalls here. This country is rich in its heritage and it holds a history of more than 3,000  years. Maurya Ruler Emperor Ashoka propagates Buddhism here and since then Buddhism is an integral part of this country. This country is mentioned in ancient texts such as Ramayana, Mahavamsa, and Dipavamsa.

Tour Itinerary

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, you will meet your representatives from Travelogy India and be transferred directly to Colombo.
Optional: Depending on the flight time, do a city tour of Colombo before checking in to the hotel. After checking into your hotel, you are free for the rest of the day. Feel free to take a walk and explore Colombo nightlife on own.

Overnight Stay in Colombo.


On the 2nd day of your trip, after having breakfast and a cup of coffee or tea, we will head toward mesmerizing Sri Lankan Countryside to Dambulla. Dambulla is the center of the island’s cultural triangle.

En route, we will visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

 After that, we will reach Dambulla countryside where will take a village tour and will explore the wonderful culture and rural lifestyle of Sri Lanka. Our trip at Dambulla will start with a bullock cart ride, which is one of the most ancient transportation systems not only in Sri Lanka but in the Indian Subcontinent in total.

Bullock cart is still used by villagers in some part of Sri Lanka. On this trip, we will enjoy a boat ride across the pleasant lake and river and a Tuk-Tuk ride before reaching the farmer’s houses. At the farmer’s house, you will receive the hospitality of the typical Sri Lankan Countryside.  Check-in at your hotel.

Optional Tour: Early morning is the best time to head towards Minneriya/Kaudulla National Park. Morning is the best time to spot elephants in their natural habitat.

If you are a nature lover and loved to be in nature, then Minneriya/Kaudulla National Park is the perfect destination for you. We will go on a jeep safari in  jeepsy.

This park is spreading over an area of 8890 hectares and is home to many rare species. You can find more than 20 species of mammals inside the park such as Elephant, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Sambar Deer, Wild Buffalo, Grey Langer, and many more. This national park is also home to more than 170 species of birds.

Proceed back to the hotel and have your breakfast and morning tea/coffee.

Afternoon, we will head toward Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is a UNESCO world heritage site and it is the best place to capture the sunset. This fort was built in the year 490 AD by King Kasayapa on the top of the rock and it was decorated with colorful frescoes on its side. Sigiriya Fort is also known as the wonder of the world due to its amazing architecture and technology which are being used while making it.

Your day 3 will come to an end with this. You can check in at your hotel. Though you can spend your evening on your own by exploring the nature nearby.

Overnight stay in Dambulla.


After breakfast drive towards Kandy city. It is set on a plateau surrounded by mountains that are home to tea plantations and rainforests. Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic.

En route, visit the Dambulla cave temple. This UNESCO heritage site is the largest and the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

Afternoon, visit the Temple of Tooth Relic (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE).

Evening, you’ll explore on your walk around Kandy's city center before engaging with a cultural dance show which is inspired by Sri Lankan arts, traditional dance, and cultural heritage.

By going through coconut palms, lush green mountains, and cascading waterfalls, we will finally arrive at a famous beach in Sri Lanka.

Bentota is a sandy beach that was an offbeat location earlier and kept in secrecy for a long, but after the opening of a few pubs and restaurants this place came into the limelight, and now it’s a major tourist attraction of Sri Lanka. This beach is so beautiful that its looks like a postcard on which a tropical beach is printed.

After spending our day at the beach side, we will check in to the hotel where you can grab a towel and relax on the beach or you can enjoy a cocktail.

Overnight stay in Bentota.


On the 6th day, After having our morning tea/coffee and breakfast, we will visit Turtle Hatchery Farm. Located at Bentota Beach, the turtle hatchery farm is another famous tourist attraction in the city. Up to 5 endangered species of turtle are found here kept vising this beach for a long time.

They are allowed to hatch here before they are set free.

We will go on a river cruise ride after that in the Madu Ganga River. This area is rich in the ecosystem of mangrove and the coastal ecosystem are rich in wildlife species. This area is the last remaining tract of pristine mangrove forest in the whole of Sri Lanka.

 Sailing by boat is a wonderful way to explore this area as you may witness hundreds of endemic species of plants and animals. From monkeys to elephants, water monitors lizard kingfishers, and many more.

There are more than 60 islands on this river. Some of them are very tiny and have only deserted shrines while others are big and are home to more than 250 families. These islands are connected to the mainland through a footbridge.

The local people here are indulging in fishing and also it is their main occupation. You may see many fishermen during the evening lighting lantern just to attract shellfish.
