Tour Itinerary

Start your journey with an amazing flight experience to Paro. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges from Kathmandu or over the foothills of Kolkata. Right after the immigration formalities and bag collection, you will meet our representative, you will be transferred to Thimphu - the capital of Bhutan.

On your way to Thimpu visit Chuzom, the confluence of Thimpu and Paro rivers. This confluence is embellished with three different types of stupas including Tibetian, Nepalese and Bhutanese.

After reaching Thimpu, you need to check-in to the Le Meridien hotel. Thimpu is the centre of Government, religion, and commerce in Bhutan. It is amazing to experience how both modern development and old tradition coexist here in this place.

Next, we will go to Tashichho Dzong renowned as the 'fortress of the glorious religion'. Visit the monarch's throne room and the seat of Je Khenpo or Chief Abbot.

In the evening, have a small walk around the main street and local market. Overnight stay at Thimpu.


Post-breakfast journey to Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang). Enjoy the overview of the Thimpu Valley from this place. Here you can offer prayer to Lord Buddha, known as the largest statue in the country and walk around the beautiful valley for a glimpse.

Next visit King's Memorial Chorten where people are chanting mantras, spinning prayer wheels and circling continuously.

Visit the Textile Museum to experience the weaving techniques, styles of local dress and textiles created by women and men.

After lunch, we will go to the Folk heritage museum to site the Bhutanese Folk heritage and rural history through exhibits, demonstrations, educational programs, and documentation.

Then we will visit the Institute of Zorig Chusum - an Art & Craft school or Painting school and Takin Preserve. Takin that looks like a cross between a cow and goat is the national animal of Bhutan.

In the evening, visit the government-aided Handicraft Emporium and local crafts bazaar to explore the traditional art. You can also buy hand-woven textiles, masks, ceramics, thangkha paintings, slate and wood carvings, jewellery and many more beautiful local items.

Spend the last night in Thimpu at Le Meridien.


Head towards Paro after early breakfast. Stop at Simtokha Dzong, which is famous for tantric teaching. It is one of the oldest fortresses of Bhutan. This Dzong has now become a school for the study of the Dzongkha language.

Check-in to the hotel, move forward to Ta Dzong. Once it was a watchtower and now it is the National Museum. You will be amazed to watch the antique thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons and armour, household items along with a wide variety of natural and historic artifacts.

The next destination is Rinpung Dzong. It means the 'fortress of the heap of jewel'. This place has a long history and now it is decorated with the wooden galleries in the inner courtyard. Site the marvellous wall paintings illustrating various famous Buddhist lore like four friends, the old man of long life, the wheel of life, scenes from the life of Milarepa, Mt. Sumeru and other cosmic Mandala.

Stay overnight at Le Meridien in Paro.


After breakfast, we will go to visit Taktsang Monastery. It takes nearly 5 hours round trip walk. It is considered as one of the most famed Monasteries in Bhutan, situated at the edge of a cliff that heights 900m from the Paro Valley floor.

In the afternoon, we will reach Drukgyel Dzong. This 17th-century fortress was burned down in the early '50s. Here you can experience the beauty of typical farmhouse which is colourful, decorative and made with no nails like other traditional Bhutanese farmhouses.

Way back to Paro, visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang. It is one of those 108 temples built by the Tibetian King Songtsen Gampo in the Himalayas. The temple is considered as the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan. Spend your evening by relaxing and shopping at Paro City Centre.

After breakfast, our representative will meet you to assist you in the exit formalities and you will be transferred to the airport for onwards journey.
