Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan state is famous for its famous architectures and spiritual locations. One of the famous temples situated in Jaipur is the Govind Dev Ji Temple, which is located in the City Palace complex. It was built in the year of 1735 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh II.The main deity of the temple is Govind Dev ji, Lord Krishna’s another form. The idol is exactly similar to Lord Krishna, when had incarnation on the earth.

Legend of the temple

Govind dev ji idol is attractive and also called Bajrakrit. At the time of temple construction the founder of Jaipur, Raja Sawai Jai Singh II, brought the idol from Vrindavan. According to the legendary stories the holy image of Lord Govind Dev ji was created by Barjranabh who is the great grandson of Lord Shri Krishna. According to his grandmother’s instructions he made the idol at the age of only 13.

Historical Location

A large number of devotees visit this temple daily to get darshan of Bhagavan. Aartis and poojas are offered for seven times each day in the temple. The beautiful gardens surrounded by the temple are very descent and striking for getting a feeling of calm and serenity. The whole temple is covered with gold covering on its ceiling which shines and gives a glorious look. European Chandeliers emerge shiny glaze which are seen in the temple. Portraits related to Indian arts can be viewed inside the temple. Devotees of Lord Shri Krishna will have a great pleasure viewing the temple during the Janmastami celebrations.
