8 Days - Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Trek from Mumbai
The Valley of flowers is located in North Chamoli in Uttarakhand at the sea level of above 3,658 metres high altitude. In 1931, its presence was disclosed in unintentional manner by three mountaineers Eric Shipton, Frank. S. Smythe and RL Holdsworth while returning from Mount Kamet.
Nowadays, Valley of flowers is the national park as well as well-known place in Indian Country due to presence of its wildflowers. It is located in western of Himalayas where shrubs of alpine and various extinct species of it can be seen. In our words, it’s a place of heaven on earth.
On the other side, there is place called “Hemkund” which is located at an altitude of 4,500 metres high above the level of sea. These are the significant places for Hindus as well as Sikhs which is devoted to Tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Gobind Sikh.
On the banks of Hemkund in Chamoli at Uttarakhand, holy Sikh Gurudwara lies which is located in the heart of region. It comprises of 7 snow cap crest and splendid beautiful glaciers. Valley of flowers and Hemkund Place gives an unmemorable experience when visited.

Take Flight from Mumbai and reach Dehradun.
On arrival at Dehradun, you will be driven to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is a place which is also known as the ‘Yoga Capital of India’. The place comprises of multiple temples and ashrams. After that, you scheduled your presence at Triveni Ghat for popular Ganga Aarti. This will be undoubtedly an ultimate experience of lifetime memories in your heart.
Return for Dinner and Night stay at the hotel.
After breakfast in the early morning start your journey from Rishikesh to Govindghat. Take the road drive from NH58 highway to reach Joshimath via Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Chamoli. Soon you will be arriving at Govindghat, just check in at the rest house available in Govindghat.
Overnight stay at Govindghat.
Early Morning drive to Ghangaria from where you will start the trek to valley of flowers. Start trekking of 14 km to Ghangaria about 4-5 hrs. Journey via forest area and villages with full of lush green landscape and waterfalls. Check in at the booked guest house on arrival at Ghangaria.
Evening Dinner and Night halt stay at the hotel / Guesthouse.
After having a good breakfast and packingof lunch, start trekking towards Valley of Flowers from Ghangaria. The trekking towards Valley of flowers from Ghangaria is little steep but easy to move. There is some charge if you want to carry your camera in Valley of Flowers.
As you move towards the Valley you will enjoy more beauty of it as it may take few hours to climb at the utmost peak point of valley of flowers.
Valley of flowers is located at an elevation of approx. 3,658 meters above the sea level. It is the source of Pushpawati River flowing from it. You can explore multiple spots at the valley and then later you can return back to Ghangaria.
After having Breakfast, Start your trek towards Hemkund Sahib which takes about 3-4 hours to reach there.
Hemkund Sahib Place is located at 6 km from Ghangaria at an elevation height of about 4,329 meters above sea level. These region is mostly covered with heavy snowfalls during winter season. Due to this the region almost remains closed from November to April months. These place is pilgrimage place for both devotees Hindus as well as Sikhs and it is devoted to the Tenth Sikh Guru.
It is assumed that sins can be washed out if you dip in the pristine waters of Hemkund as well as do the parikrama of Hemkund of around 2 km. Pilgrimages who visits there love to take a dip bath in the cold waters of lake. Later visit small temple which is inside the temple is dedicated to the lord Lakshman.
Later after having much time at Gurudwara (Shrine) plan your return journey towards walking Ghangaria. Night halt at the guest house at Ghangharia.
Enjoy your early morning breakfast, plan your journey towards walking down to Govindghat. While walking towards the valley, your eyes will be caught towards the charming beauty of the valley and you will feel like to stay there in the beautiful Himalayan laps.
Night stay at Govindghat.
After having early morning breakfast, take road drive towards Rishikesh. After reaching at Rishikesh, give some time for relaxation.
Have breakfast and road drive towards Dehradun airport to take a flight to reach Mumbai.
