Sikkim International Flower Festival 2022

Feel overwhelmed by the beauty of fresh flowers at the International Flower Festival in Sikkim. It is an annual event that is organized by the State’s Tourism Department and interests everyone who is passionate about horticulture. The event showcases various plant species, starting from orchids to roses, gladioli, ferns and what not.

The festival is celebrated during the peak blossoming season (March /April/May) . The venue is White Hall which is very close to the capital city of Gangtok. The show brings you close to nature and is the main source of attraction among tourists as well as locals alike.

This small state of Sikkim is famous for its rich flora which blossoms during March to May around 600 species of orchids, 150 varieties of gladioli, 240 species of trees and ferns, 46 types of rhododentrons, varieties of magnolias and many other foliage plants.

The main attraction in the flower show will be showcases of orchids, roses, alpine plants, gladioli, creepers, ferns, cacti, climbers, herbs etc.

How to Reach Sikkim

By Air : Bagdogra International Airport is the nearest. It is well connected to all the major destinations in India. The approximate distance is around 130 kilometres. Kindly note, Sikkim has its own airport near Gangtok but flights operate only between Kolkata and Sikkim.

By Rail : The closest railway station is in New Jalpaiguri which is located in Siliguri Town, West Bengal. The estimated distance is 150 kilometres that can be covered by road.
