IRCTC’s Tejas Express Trains Fares to be 50% Less then Flights on Same Route

Tejas Express is the most awaiting semi-luxury train for many to use its high-end class facilities and amenities. In advance, IRCTC Tejas announced the great news that its fare will be 50% off than that of flights fare on the same route which the trains will go to travel. It’s good news for people who want to enjoy the services of Tejas.

Under IRCTC, the two Tejas Express train which set to run in between Delhi - Lucknow and Ahmedabad - Mumbai Central is going to be tested with 50% off fare rates. This is like a test case to introduce privatization in Indian Railways to run other certain trains. During peak season also these trains will charge lesser fare than flights even though it is time of high ticket fares. But these trains will never offer any concessions or quota to anyone even their “VIP” candidates.

In general, railways provide concession rates to 53 category people include senior citizens, patients, differently-abled persons, award winners, etc. But in case of these trains, no concession rates or quota will apply to them and also children above 5 years age will also have to pay full ticket fare. In addition to all these, offering 50 lakh travel insurance to passengers from private companies is another great news. These trains will be the first if they do like.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Railways and IRCTC is yet to be signed. Once it is completed, all details of the train’s proceedings can be finalized. All these new steps in Indian Railways signify privatization which should be completed in the government’s 100-day plan. As per the sources, the two Tejas Expresses handed to IRCTC was the primary step of that case.

Coming to the interiors and facilities of Tejas, it relates to an airplane like featured environment with world-class equipment. The coaches of the trains equip state-of-the-art interiors, fully air-conditioned system, Wi-Fi availability, LCD infotainment screens, automatic sliding doors, CCTV cameras, call buttons, bio-vacuum toilets etc. One important thing about these trains is on-board ticket checking should not be done by the railway staff; it is the job of IRCTC personnel.

However, the two Tejas Expresses not started their journey yet. But as per the sources, Delhi-Lucknow Tejas will start its services in October and the second one will be operated after a month. With the Tejas Express like trains, the people of India can see new changes in rail journeys.
