A. The train itinerary covers eminent destinations like Jaipur, Ranthambore (SawaiMadhopur), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra. The trip starts and ends in Delhi.

Q. When should I reach Delhi to board the train?

A. It is better to reach Delhi at least a day or couple of days before the departure date to avoid any last minute complications.

Booking

Q. How to book tickets in Palace on Wheels?

A. The train tickets can be booked via online through the official site of Palace on Wheels or via GSA sites like Travelogy India Pvt Ltd.

Q. What are the modes of payment allowed for ticket booking?

A. Passengers can pay via credit cards or via bank transfer. Top credit cards like Visa, American Express, Master and Discover Cards are accepted for booking. If you are up for bank transfer, the details about the bank account would be provided upon request.

A. Carry clothing based on the temperature and climatic conditions. India is a tropical country whose climate is humid and hot throughout the year.

A. The train has 14 saloons, which are decorated based on specific themes. The saloons can hold up to 82 passengers for one trip.

Q. Is passport (visa) required to board the Palace on Wheels?

A. Palace on Wheels does not demand the tourists to bring their passport. However, valid passport and visa are requested to enter India. Your passport should have a minimum of 6 months validity.

Q. Does Palace on Wheels provide laundry or dry cleaning services?

A. Yes, laundry services are available at certain destinations, at an additional cost. The clothes will be delivered on the next day or at the next destination.

Q. Is Palace on Wheels accessible on a wheelchair?

A. The train cabins are accessible via wheelchair. For getting wheel chair services, the same should be requested during the booking.

Q. Is water available inside the train cabin?

A. Bottled mineral water is provided in each room. If you want some bottles of water for your excursion, you can talk to your room attendant about it.

Q. What additional expenses would incur during the trip?

A. The train ticket cost is inclusive of most of the expenses including meals, beverages, monument visits, sightseeing costs and accommodation. Addition charges would be levied for wines, soft-drinks, juices, alcohol, additional toiletries, camera fees, laundry services and so on.

Q. How to exchange foreign currencies during trip? Will there be any ATM machines?

A. You can exchange currencies at any banks or authorized money exchangers. ATMs are available at many cities, if you wish to withdraw money.

Q. Will there be doctors on-board?

A. Doctors are available at every destination of the itinerary. If you need any medical assistance, talk to your butler and he will arrange necessary things.

A. All the emergency contact numbers will be mentioned in the travel voucher.

Q. Can tourists bring their own wine or alcohol with them?

A. No, bringing any outside liquor or wine is prohibited inside the train. There is a bar with liquor, alcohol and wines for tourists, inside the train.

A. Modern security arrangements are made for security purposes. Apart from those, every cabin holds electronic lockers for tourists to store any valuable items.
