The Deccan Odyssey is one of the splendorous and the most luxurious train in India. It is now all set to take you to an 8-day royal journey among one of the most beautiful states of Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra Splendor itinerary of the Deccan Odyssey includes a visit to the Wine Capital of India - Nashik, Kolhapur – Place for Amazing Chappals, Goa- The Pearl of the Orient, Aurangabad for the famous Ajanta and Ellora Caves and also the Holy city of Ratnagiri.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 :Mumbai (Arrival)

Deccan Odyssey welcomes you on board. Arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 15:30 hours to complete the clear out the registration process, entry details, verifications and also check in formalities for Maharashtra – The extravagant journey. You will be traditionally welcomed and also served with a refreshing soft drink.

After the completion of all the formalities, check in your luggage and have your seat. The Deccan Odyssey is scheduled to move out from Mumbai to Nashik. Enjoy the authentic dinner and have a luxurious sleep overnight.

Day 2 :Nashik

The Deccan Odyssey enters the holy city of Nashik by morning. Sit down relax and have a luscious breakfast on board and then get excited to walk down through the Godavari Ghats.

You can also observe various Hindu rituals and traditions performed in the Godavari Ghat. There is a street market alongside the Godavari ghat, one can find a lot of local goods such as vegetables, dried seafood, cow dung cakes which are sold in the market.

A scheduled drive through the Grover Zampa vineyards where you can observe one of the amazing Indian wine producing vineyards and also a chance to notice the use of Chenin, Shiraz and the Chardonnay grapes for the use of making wine.

The tour will also give you a detailed segment of what you will witness one of the ancient methods of making wines in India. You will also be served with some of the oldest and the finest collections of red wine, rose wine, white wine and also sparkling wines. You can also add some spice to some delicious food.

After enjoying the lunch you will need to get back to the Deccan Odyssey and grab your seat. The Deccan Odyssey leaves for Aurangabad overnight and you will be served hot with Dinner and make a stay in this luxurious train.

Day 3 :Aurangabad – Ellora Caves

The Deccan Odyssey enters Aurangabad by morning, also known as the industrial town of Maharashtra. The train arrives at the Jalgaon station. The must-visit attractions including Bibi-ka-Makbara, City’s 52 gates and Daulatabad Fort are amazing and alluring.

After having a healthy breakfast you will be taken out to explore the beautiful Ellora Caves, also known as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Ellora Caves is a pure form of Buddhist teachings and religious art and architecture where you will find magnificent carvings, paintings and sculptures of Buddhist art. There is a beautiful shrine of Lord Shiva such as Kailash temple.

Authentic lunch will be hot served onboard – Deccan Odyssey as it is scheduled to leave for the city of Kolhapur which comes next. The Deccan Odyssey will also provide you some fruitful recreational activities or else you can take some rest to carry out more travel activities as you reach the next stoppage, Kolhapur.

You will be provided with snacks and drinks followed by your dinner on board and stay overnight on the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 4 :Ajanta Caves

Breakfast will be provided on board, as the train reaches the Jalgaon Station. After breakfast onboard, the guests will be guided to the Ajanta Caves, which is one of the most attractive UNESCO World Heritage site. There are 30 different rock cut Buddhist caves which are not only beautiful and attractive but also has features of sculptures and paintings of Buddhist religious art. The depiction of Universal Pictorial Art in form of paintings and sculptures.

Lunch will be provided on board as of the Deccan Odyssey leaves for the wonderful city of Kolhapur. You can enjoy recreational activities on board as of playing a board game, watching few movies or a relaxing spa massage.

Day 5 :Kolhapur

You will get a wonderful view of the surroundings as the Deccan Odyssey reaches the city of Kolhapur. You will be provided with a delicious breakfast onboard and spend some quality time on the Deccan Odyssey with some of your favorite magazines and newspapers.

After having your lunch on board you will be taken out for the City tour to Kolhapur.

You will visit the New Palace Museum at first which is a historic building and was constructed during 1877 - 1884. The museum also adds sparks the royal apparel, jewelry, coins, weapons, silver elephant saddles and also one of the famous swords of Aurangzeb.

You can also pick a view on a letter from the British Viceroy and Governor General of India which are some of the famous collectibles. Have a look at the Darbar Hall which is in the center of the Palace and also the ambiance which has been created to display a glimpse of Maratha history.

You will be then served with tea and snacks at a special venue. You will also be able to attend a famous folk performance also termed as Lavanya Sandhya.

You will be then moved to the famous Mahalakshmi temple which is 1300 year old as also termed as the Shakti Pethas. The Mahalakshmi Temple is believed to be dedicated to Goddess Shakti, the consort of Lord Vishnu.

After the visit to the Mahalakshmi Temple, you will be moved out to witness a traditional martial arts performance which is also termed as the ‘Mardani Khel'. After the amazing performance, you will be headed back to the Deccan Odyssey and served with dinner. Up next is the departure to Goa – The Pearl of the Orient. Day 6 : Goa

By morning you will be reaching at one of the most happening states of Goa where you will find the Portuguese culture, party overnight, food and drinks and a lot of lights. Breakfast will be provided and continue with an exciting tour to the Goa's sightseeing. You will be driven to the Fontain has, also known as the Latin Quarters in Panjim which has some well-restored houses built in complete Portuguese style of architecture. It is also considered to be one of the famous UNESCO World Heritage sites and you can explore the culture, tradition and also the art and architecture of the Fontain has.

Up comes next is Ribander, the erstwhile capital of Goa. You will be taken to some of the most amazing and old churches and ruins of St. Augustine tower which was once believed to be the pride of Goa. Goa is also famous for its beaches and also graffiti art and also football which has been adopted by most of the young players of the state.

A drive to the Sahakari spice plantation to capture a traditional Goan feast which is a 400-year-old Portuguese delicacy. In this meal, you will be served hot with some delicious seafood as such shrimps, kingfish, and mackerel. You will also be served with Feni which is a famous alcoholic drink in Goa. Return back to the Deccan Odyssey by dinner time as it departs for Ratnagiri. The Deccan Odyssey moves out through the beautiful Konkan region and you can observe one of the most beautiful views of this region. Overnight stay on the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 7 : Ratnagiri

By day 7, you will arrive at Ratnagiri, which is located at a jagged island by the coast of Malvan. You will be provided with your breakfast and then go out to explore the holy town of Sindhudurg. You will get back to the Deccan Odyssey for lunch and then start with sightseeing activities. By evening you will need to return to the train, awaiting the capital city Mumbai by next day morning. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay on the Deccan Odyssey.

Day 8 :Mumbai (Departure)

By early morning you will be reaching the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, Mumbai where before reaching you will be provided with breakfast and after which you will bid goodbye to one of the most amazing tours of your life in the royal passage, the Deccan Odyssey as the journey finally comes to an end.
